A REVOLUTIONARY new out-of-hours veterinary service is being launched in Birstall.
Vets4Pets now provides 24-hour care where people can see a vet out of hours for the same price as a daytime consultation.
The ‘24/7’ service has seen the recruitment of a dedicated team of vets and vet nurses to work on a rota system overnight.
The previous team of 22 staff has been complimented with seven new additions – including three vets and two senior nurses – to launch the 24/7 service.
It is believed that other veterinary practices in the area charge £100 or more just to see a vet in the night, which can be a huge financial burden to clients who are dealing with their animals in distress.
The exciting project developed by Vets4Pets aims to bring the same service, same team, and most importantly the same price to clients day and night.
Anyone can use the service at the practice, which is based on the mezzanine level within the Pets At Home store at Birstall Retail Park.
Practice owner Keith Leonard is part of a family of veterinarians – four brothers and their father are all vets and they have previously featured on the ‘Vets in Practice’ BBC TV series.
In addition, Keith and his team are providing the in-patient and hospitalisation care for eight Vets4Pets practices across the region, so clients already with these local practices will automatically benefit from the new 24/7 service.
The Birstall branch will now be open 365 days a year and is the fifth Vets4Pets practice nationwide to go 24/7.
The team are holding a launch event next Thursday, October 5, when key clients, representatives from local animal charities, the Yorkshire Pet Ambulance and Vets4Pets national management will be in attendance to hear about the new service.
