AN ENGINEERING firm in Dewsbury is moving deeper into the water treatment sector after signing a major deal.
Richard Alan Engineering, based at the Shaw Cross Business Park, has been granted an exclusive licence by BASF.
The deal is for a range of polymer handling, preparation and dosing equipment for water treatment applications.
The products, which remove solids from waste water, can be used in Europe outside Spain, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Their contract includes BASF’s JetWet, AeroWet Alcotech and PolyMEC brands, which Richard Alan Engineering already make.
The deal allows them to market and distribute the products, which managing director Robert Johnson hailed as huge boost.
He said: “Richard Alan Engineering has been the manufacturer of this range of BASF equipment for more than 15 years.
“The exclusive rights for this established, market-leading range of equipment is a significant and exciting step forward for our company.”
Richard Alan Engineering, founded more than 40 years ago, is the largest company in the Richard Alan Group.
Specialisms include design, installation, fabrication, pipework, structural steelwork and manufacturing engineering equipment.
Employing about 150 people, Richard Alan Engineering achieved turnover of £12m in the last financial year.
