New birthing class launched

MUMSTOBE can calm their nerves over what happens next with birthing classes due that have begun in Heckmondwike.
Tutor Steph Swinden is offering lessons to pregnant women at the Ponderosa Business Park through national group Lazy Daisy.
The antenatal classes involve movements, breathing and other exercises to prepare the women physically and emotionally for labour.
Steph, a new mum herself, said: "I was about 22 weeks pregnant when I started to get anxious about what to expect.
"So I found more positive ways to help me through labour. Breathing and other techniques shown to me through Lazy Daisy were a real help."
It inspired her to train with the group as a birthing teacher.
She is currently helping women, though couples classes will be hopefully added in the spring.
Lazy Daisy's techniques are suited to both hospital or home births. Classes can be taken any time from the 14th week of pregnancy.
Firsttime mums are welcome, and so are those who have been through it before but want something different from traditional antenatal classes.
To book or for more details call Steph on 07919 487927.
