A Mirfield building firm been brought back from the brink of collapse after joining a construction organisation and forging links with other companies.
John Croft, of Croft & Son Ltd, says he joined Construction & Housing Yorkshire as a â€œlast shake of the diceâ€.
The move saved the business after Mr Croft made contact with key industry figures and won new contacts.
Since becoming a member of the organisation â€“ partof regeneration charity reâ€™new â€“ Mr Croft has been introduced to key players in the regional construction and housing sectors, plus given Â help filling out tenders and prequalification documents.
He said: â€œThings werenâ€™t going well, and in 2010 I was introduced to Construction & Housing Yorkshire.
â€œIt was a last shake of the dice and, itâ€™s fair to say it has proved to be a very wise move
â€œThanks to Construction & Housing Yorkshire, we have been introduced to key people in the sector, in addition to receiving help and advice filling in tender documents.
â€œThe last three years we have seen significant signs of business growth.
â€œWe are now working with a number of housing associations and local authorities, undertaking a variety of different jobs.
â€œWe are busy, which still in the current climate, is encouraging.
