A FINANCIAL planning firm in Roberttown is helping its clients to reach their own personal utopia.
The Utopia Group, based on Roberttown Lane, moved to the village in August and has quickly settled into the community.
The firm offers oldfashioned facetoface financial advice, combined with the latest computer technology, on savings and investments, pensions and retirement options, life and protection planning, business protection and lifestyle counselling.
Formed in 2007, Utopia was originally based in Norristhorpe and after expanding the sixstrong team moved up the road to Roberttown.
Directors Ray Garnett, Darron Whitehead and Donna Connolly worked together for many years prior to joining forces at Utopia and have a wealth of experience in the insurance, banking and accounting sectors.
Both Darron and Ray live in Roberttown, while Donna commutes from Silsden, and the firm have settled in well, becoming the main sponsors of the popular Roberttown Beer Festival.
It is something of a family affair at Utopia, with members of Darron and Ray’s family also working within the business.
Independent financial advisor Patrick Duffy also has links with Ray that stretch back 25 years. Client relations director Donna said: “We’re genuinely interested in helping people. It doesn’t matter how much you have to invest, we offer a friendly, professional service to everyone.”
With the nation’s economy still sluggish, managing director Ray Garnett believes that Utopia have managed to beat the slump and help their clients prosper despite the tough climate.
“I feel that the downturn has been positive for us and our clients, as people often need more advice and need their money to work harder,” said Ray.
Darron Whitehead added: “At Utopia we always look to develop longterm relationships.
“At bigger firms you can be just an account number, but we really get to know our clients.
“We think longterm and it’s not all about making the most money we can from you, we’re in it for the long haul.”
