Latest award for Tomlinson

BATLEYborn tycoon Lawrence Tomlinson has scooped another honour at this year’s Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards.
Chairman and founder of the Ideal Care Homes group, which runs the Ashworth Grange home in Dewsbury, Mr Tomlinson won the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care award at a ceremony at York’s National Railway Museum earlier this month.
The former Batley Grammar School pupil (pictured above) is reputed to be worth around £400 million and the award’s judges said: “Lawrence Tomlinson has demonstrated a lifetime’s commitment to social care ... his entrepreneurial skills allow him to grow his businesses whilst retaining quality and affordable care homes ... remaining passionate about his ethos, motivating and retaining staff to ensure continuity and excellence.”
The awards, supported by the Department of Health, are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional events which celebrate excellence in social care and pay tribute to those who work in the sector.
