Hoyle is keynote guest at conference

MIRFIELDBASED Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle is a keynote speaker at next week’s Kirklees Business Conference.
Now in its third year, the conference takes place at Huddersfield’s Galpharm Stadium on Thursday and involves a fullday of businessspecific seminars and exhibitions.
Heckmondwikeborn Mr Hoyle sold his Card Factory business for a reported £350m last year. The Terriers chairman started selling cards from the back of van in Wakefield with wife Janet in 1993.
Five years later they opened their first shop.
The pair subsequently built Card Factory into a 500store nationwide empire, which was later sold to private equity firm Charterhouse.
Mr Hoyle said: “Kirklees Business Conference is our district’s flagship business event. KBC is key to the success of the Kirklees economy as it encourages local businesses to open up closer trade links with each other.”
Businesswomen Nicky Patterson and Kirsty Henshaw are other keynote speakers, along with paralympic judo champion Simon Jackson.
