A FARM shop in Mirfield is to supply all the produce for a football club’s new training base.
Haigh’s, of Elmgrove Farm, off Far Common Road, have joined forces with Huddersfield Town.
The family firm, founded in 1980, will be supplying food to the Championship club’s Canalside training HQ.
Based near the John Smith’s Stadium on Leeds Road, it houses the club’s youth academy, training pitches and has facilities for supporters.
Huddersfield Town’s commercial director Sean Jarvis said: “We try to supply our produce locally whenever possible. It’s fantastic we’ve been able to team up with Haigh’s Farm Shop. They’re as proud of their Yorkshire roots as we are.
“I’m sure our fans will soon taste the benefit of this new arrangement at Canalside’s new kitchen!”
The deal will see adverts for Haigh’s Farm displayed at the stadium on match days and at Canalside.
Richard Haigh said: “Where possible we produce everything ourselves from one of our three farms.
“We also bake our own bread and confectionery, fruit pies and also meat pies on site seven days a week.”
