PLANNING permission has been approved for the final stage of development at Springwell 27 business park in Birstall.
Developer Eshton Gregory has secured permission to build a 30,000 sqft facility for industrial and office which could be ready for occupation in just 18 weeks.
Springwell 27 is an eightacre development located just off Dark Lane.
In 2007 Ocado selected the site to house its 10,500 sq ft regional distribution depot and Eshton Gregory then built ‘phase two’, comprising 30,000 sq ft in 11 units. The sale of the last earlier this year has prompted plans to progress the third and final phase.
Eshton Gregory is a joint venture partnership between Eshton Group and Gregory Property Group.
Richard Tovey, at Gregory, said: “The success of the two phases at Springwell 27 serves to reinforce its excellent location.
“With all units now sold we are in a strong position to release the final phase of the scheme which offers a design and build opportunity of 30,000 sq ft.
“Since the infrastructure is already in place we have the distinct advantage of being able to provide brandnew premises for occupation in just 18 weeks.”
More than 200 jobs have been created at Springwell 27 over the last three years with deals agreed with operators including Floorbrite, UPVC Maintainance, K R Hannaford, DSP Electrical and more recently to used JCB specialist T C Harrison Group.
