INTERNET experts Ascensor have clocked up five years of online success – and they’ve got ambitious plans for growth in the next 12 months, too.
Specialists in building websites and using ‘search engine optimisation’ techniques to boost their clients’ sites up the rankings of search giants like Google, the Birstall firm have blossomed spectacularly since being launched by Andrew Firth and Stuart Holdsworth in November 2007.
Now Ascensor have 17 staff based at their HQ on the Oakwell Industrial Park in Birstall as well as a thriving London operation that was launched 18 months ago after an explosion of business in the south of the country.
The tech firm’s team deliver specialist web design, ecommerce, digital marketing and SEO to business customers across the region and beyond – and they are also experts in what is known as ‘responsive technology’, which allows websites to be viewed perfectly on any platform – mobile, tablet, laptop or otherwise.
The firm have big plans for 2013, targeting a 50 per cent growth in business, an expansion of their Birstall premises, a ‘refreshing’ of the Ascensor branding and taking on more staff.
As well as continuing and expanding its work with local charities, Ascensor are also keen to forge links with local further education establishments to help bring on the next generation of techsavvy recruits.
Another novel idea Ascensor are currely toying with is a scheme to allow charities to access a ‘timebank’ of free work hours that the firm would set aside to help them develop websites and other digital media strategies.
New marketing manager Sarah Briggs said: “It’s an exciting time to be at Ascensor.
“We’ve held a wideranging feedback exercise with the entire team to help us shape our new plan for growth in 2013.
“Everyone’s ideas have been taken on board and we all know where we want to be at the end of the year.
“Now we have a focus and more structure, so as well as seizing business opportunities when they come along, we have a plan for growth that we are always aiming towards.”
Ascensor took a large team to a recent business exhibition in London, which gained immediate results and a flurry of new contacts and business opportunities from firms in the capital and southeast.
“We feel that our growth will come through our clients’ growth,” Sarah continued.
“As our work with them reaps rewards for the customer, more work will be generated going forward.”
