Bus chief back at wheel

A BUS company manager went undercover to find out what passengers think of his firm’s services in Dewsbury.

Arriva Yorkshire chief Colin Newbury travelled on the 202 route from the town to Leeds as part of National Customer Service Week.

He spoke with unsuspecting passengers about Arriva Yorkshire’s timetables, routes, buses and drivers.

Colin even took the wheel himself to see what the conditions were like for drivers on today’s congested roads.

He said: “I used to be a bus driver and so really enjoyed taking the wheel again after refreshing my memory.

“Driving such a large vehicle can be challenging and it’s made me appreciate once again how skilful our drivers are.”

Colin added he is also going to use the passenger feedback to improve  services.

“We are committed to providing the best level of service and this project shows how much we value feedback from our passengers,” he said.

National Customer Service Week took place this month.
