You have been warned well in advance – the cast of ITV2’s The Big Reunion have announced details of their Christmas single. Atomic Kitten, Blue, 5ive, Liberty X, 911, Honeyz and B*Witched will release a cover Wizzard’s ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’ on December 15 via Universal Music.

Beverley Callard who plays Liz in Coronation Street tells me that filming in the new studio complex at Media City is really strange. She said: “Everything is the same until you step outside of course, and then you know you’re not in the familiar land of Quay Street in Manchester but I know many who miss that.”

Well, the Halifax resident may be popping up quite a few times on your TV screens over the next few months. He tells me: “Since the show it’s been manic and I have had some very interesting meetings, so it’s fingers crossed from now on.”

The recent screening of ‘The One & Only Cilla Black’ was not a great success ratings-wise as ITV had hoped, but fans felt that the show should have gone out on a Saturday night with a bang, to really celebrate the singer’s 50 glorious years in showbiz...

A new version of Emmerdale’s Home Farm could be built as part of upcoming plans for an “exciting” stunt. Although plans for the latest dramatic storyline are being kept under wraps for now, the ITV show’s bosses have applied for planning permission for a 12-month temporary film set.

It appears that the script writer has returned to help Gary Barlow on X Factor again this year. Previously James Corden had ‘helped out’ with a few scripted answers, but now all the judges have been told to “make sure your answers are snappy and enlighten the viewer”. Hence the writer’s return...

Chat show host Graham Norton admits that he likes his guests to have a drink, so they are relaxed on the show. “We actually ask them what they prefer and get it in for them,” he said.

“That way they chat more and hopefully it’s a better show.”

Jeff Hordley, who plays panto villain Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, tells me that if the acting work dried up, he would become a radio DJ. “I kind of do it part-time now, and I love doing radio, so yes it would be the next dream job,” he said.

BBC Two have been showing ‘Afternoon Classics’ consisting of old shows such as Are You Being Served and Cagney & Lacey to such great success recently that they have almost potted ITV rival Alan Titchmarch into oblivion.

Pete Waterman proved he is still a hit with fans after his recent ‘Life Story’ show on ITV got the biggest ratings of the series. Pete, who brought us Kylie, Rick and Jason, told me: “It was an emotional experience to go on such a show.”
