Sir Bruce Forsyth tells me exclusively that he won’t ever be quitting Strictly Come Dancing. Speaking at the series’ recent launch at Elstree studios in London, he said: “You know I get this every year, when is he going? ... I am going nowhere at all, I love the show and as long as they want me, I would stay, but as ever it’s not down to me, is it Ann? The thing is the show is at its best ever right now, why would I want to leave?”

EastEnders actress Jasmyn Banks is leaving her role as Alice Branning. She reveals: “I have enjoyed my almost two years on the show, but with storyline changes now is the time to look at new challenges. I will be on screen for a while to come yet...”

Emmerdale recently splashed out on some big studio sets at the home of James Bond – Pinewood Studios in London, no less. A source reveals: “It’s the culmination of the big murders storyline with Cameron and co, and the best place to film it was the famous studio. Everyone was so excited on set, and the cast really had to up their game knowing the history of the place.”

Was that really X Factor judge Louis Walsh’s house on a recent episode of Through The Keyhole? Walsh’s house – a completely different one – has been shown on ITV primetime during the X Factor’s ‘judges’ houses’ round almost every year since 2004. Oddly it looked nothing like it when shown recently – I will leave the rest to you...

Nicholas Parsons has signed a Just A Minute-linked book deal. He will write Welcome To Just A Minute, the first book to cover the long-running radio panel show in which guests are challenged to speak on topics without hesitation, repetition, or deviation.

Judging by his double-breasted woollen coat and trilby hat, Jeremy Piven was back in London filming the second series of Mr Selfridge. The actor was spotted outside the Regency Square Hotel as filming got underway, and a source tells me: “the next series is going to be far more dramatic, and takes the story a whole lot further...”

Are the hit boy band One Direction about to make their acting debut in the Oz soap Neighbours? Insiders have revealed that the boys are all set to make a cameo appearance in the soap when their world tour stops off Down Under early next year...

Former soap actress Helen Flanagan who played Rosie Webster was given a five-year ban from Boots after walking out with £200’s worth of cosmetics in her basket. She says it was a simple mistake, and that she regrets the whole incident. Boots, though, are upholding the ban for the full five years...

Katherine Kelly has revealed that she does not miss playing Coronation Street’s Becky McDonald, although she would consider a future return to the ITV soap. Katherine has also ruled out a cameo in the ITV soap when Hayley Cropper bows out later this year.

Gary Barlow tells me that he does not enjoy being made to put through ‘joke’ acts on the X Factor. “I do object, as it’s meant to be talent show,” he said. “Here we are enjoying these older types, but really are they going to sell records big time? I think not...”

You may have seen an actor called Joe Tracini in many shows like Hollyoaks and New Tricks. If he looks familiar, that is because his dad is of course Joe Pasquale, the sometime comedian and reality TV show guest.

It was a massive hit in the 70s and early 80s, and  there’s a strong rumour that ITV plan to bring back game show ‘Celebrity Squares’, which was originally hosted by Bob Monkhouse. The show started life in the US as ‘Hollywood Squares’, where it still airs today.

Aled Jones has “no idea” about stories of him being replaced as the host of Daybreak due to continually falling viewing figures. A source, though, reveals: “People forget they pay Lorraine Kelly far more than him, and people don’t watch her either...”

Sooty is celebrating his 65th birthday by returning home to Blackpool, starring in a birthday tribute as part of the lights for this year’s Blackpool Illuminations.

Alan Titchmarsh has been gushing in a magazine column about how the Prince of Wales has the best royal garden ... failing to mention of course he is also the curator and head designer of many royal gardens. Talk about potting your own plants...

Peggy Mitchell’s return to EastEnders failed to topple Coronation Street from the top of the ratings, despite the masses of PR that actress Barbara Windsor did upon her return. Now BBC bosses are thinking of offering her a “part-time return” in order to save money.

Former Coronation Street star Brian Capron, who soap fans will forever remember as serial killer Richard Hillman, is playing a headmaster in a new sitcom pilot. ‘Staff Room’ tells the story of Ian Butterworth (Ryan McDermott), a failed filmmaker who’s given up on his Hollywood dream to become a secondary school teacher.

Peter Andre is a one, you know. Not only does he now host 60 Minute Makeover on ITV, but when the show is finished he hands out bottles of his latest fragrance to the people whose home he has decorated. How kind is that?

Michael French, who returns to EastEnders as David Wicks, thinks it was a mistake to kill off his screen mum Pat Butcher, played by Pam St Clement.

“I do think now how great it would have been with his return and all that, but it’s down to the writers and not the actors,” he said. “We all miss Pam, though, on set for sure.”
