He has enjoyed a number one record, Danced on Ice and appeared on the X Factor, but now singer/actor Chico is touring with hit 70s musical ‘Boogie Nights’, and he tells me: “I am acting, having fun and singing but yes, as ever, it’s a full-on Chico performance.” After this he teased: “I may just say yes to the jungle...”



Big Brother bosses are reportedly planning to axe Brian Dowling as host. The former winner of the reality series has been hosting the show since its move to Channel 5 in 2011. Emma Willis has been offered the job to replace Dowling as the show’s main presenter.



Fans of Strictly Come Dancing take note. It appears that Darcey Bussell is already signed up to appear on the show again this year after being made a great offer by the BBC to stay. A friend reveals: “She loved doing the show and has proved a hit with fans, so everyone is very happy.”



Larry Lamb is returning to comedy in a new ITV sitcom ‘Love and Marriage’. The ITV comedy will also star Duncan Preston and Ashley Jensen, who also starred in Extras and Ugly Betty, and it will air during the summer.



Mrs Brown is currently comedy gold, and I hear that insiders are keen to make a children’s cartoon version. Without the swearing of course...



Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede has revealed that she wants to show her fun side after bowing out as twisted Kirsty Soames. The actress filmed her final scenes as Kirsty last month, but she will remain on screen for a few more weeks. “I think it would be great to do a comedy after such an intense role,” she said. “It would be nice to do something light-hearted and show I'm not as nasty as Kirsty.”



Gary Lucy is returning to EastEnders playing the bad city slicker Danny. He reveals: “I knew he would be coming back at some stage, and I am sure he will be bad again but it’s a great role and I love being part of Albert Square.”

Jools Holland is still looking for a home after his show ‘Later’ was put on ice following the closure of the BBC’s Television Centre. As yet it’s not been able to find a big enough studio for the audience and up to six live performances per show. Hopefully, Jools reveals, “we may end up in Elstree studios which at least can accommodate us.”



Katherine Kelly, who plays Lady Mae in Mr Selfridge, has signed up for the second series of the drama and tells me: “All the interior shots are in fact filmed in a disused warehouse in North London, so while it looks glamorous on screen it’s actually far from it.”



Actress Pauline Quirke has landed her own dog a role in new ITV drama Broadchurch. She tells me: “They were looking for a dog and I had Bailey with me in the caravan, he looked adorable, so I said that I would be more than happy for him to have a role in the show. He is proving a real star in it too.”



X Factor runner-up Stacey Solomon announced a while ago she would be starring in a sitcom for Sky. Months later it has yet to appear, but Stacey is adamant that it will still happen and she is greatly looking forward to it...



EastEnders has announced that Steve John Shepherd, who plays Michael Moon, is to leave the show. Shepherd has played the cousin of Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) on the Walford soap for three years, and will bow out in a “nail-biting plot twist”.



Former Emmerdale actress Claire King has admitted she had a mini facelift, which will now be screened on TV. But she admits that: “There will be no more, but for me as an actress I did not want to look any older and this treatment was ideal, quick and makes me look rather refreshed.”



With Simon Cowell’s ‘Food Glorious Food’ failing in the prime time ratings, it appears the repeats of the show are faring better with Sunday afternoon screenings. So if the show ever does return it will probably be as a daytime production rather than a prime time one.



It sounds too good to be true, but actress Michelle Collins reveals she has a stunt double on the set of Coronation Street, as “they don’t want me to get hurt and be off the show for too long.

My stand-in is called Tracy Caudle, who does a great job on making me look brave on screen.”



X Factor producers are reportedly deciding whether to use more classic songs in this year’s live shows. Research carried out by ITV executives is said to suggest that ratings may have dipped due to the finalists performing too many current chart hits ... or maybe people are just bored of the format now?



Alesha Dixon is the face of LA Fitness gyms, and the Britain’s Got Talent judge tells me she is surprised not to see many teens into the gym culture. “I do think they owe it to themselves to get fit, as we all live in a stressful world and LA Fitness are doing a great job getting us all fit with my specially-designed classes.” Thanks, Alesha.
