Adele Silva is leaving Emmerdale again to pursue a career in films. She trills: “I was only brought back for the Jimmy King storyline which has been great, but bosses say I may be back later in the year. Hopefully I will be causing more trouble again...”

Sad news for fans of the Fern Britton chat show on Channel Four. The head of the station has cancelled the show after just one series earlier this year. Jay Hunt reveals: “Sadly it did not work out for us, but we look forward to working with Fern again on other projects in the future.”

Katie Price has signed up for a new reality show on Sky Living. The series, which is currently called ‘Discovered by Katie Price’, will follow Ms Price as she sets up her new modelling agency Black Sheep Management.

Lily Allen has revealed that she doesn’t plan to be a judge on the X Factor. The singer joked that unless Simon Cowell “forces” her she will not be on the panel. When asked if she is going to be a judge on the show, she tweeted: “No I’m not, I’m really, really not.”

Boyband McFly are moving into the world of TV with their first series, and the fourpiece band who have had four number one hit records tell me: “It’s not like a comedy show or anything, but it’s good fun and I think our fans will love it too.”

Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster was recently tipped to star in her own online spinoff, and it seems that the rumours could be true! Back in March I revealed that the Weatherfield glamour girl would have her own internet series focusing on her quest for fame as a model. X Factor host Dermot O’Leary is fine about not landing the host’s job on the US version. “I am happy with my lot here in the UK and I think good things will happen this year ... at least I know where I am going to be for the next six months!” he laughed.

Bill Tarmey has admitted that he has the deaths of Coronation Street characters Ashley Peacock and Molly Dobbs on his conscience. The actor – who quit his role as Jack Duckworth in the ITV1 soap last year – revealed that he had initially suggested that his character be killed off in a tram crash to producer Phil Collinson. “I am glad I helped create an iconic moment,” he said.

Sam, AKA Ches, tells me: “It’s pretty full0on stuff, but then that’s what Corrie is so good at...”

Zoë Lucker has promised that there are exciting times ahead for her EastEnders character Vanessa Gold before she makes her departure from Walford. “Don’t write her off just yet, there is a darker side to emerge and I think fans will love it,” she said.
