TRAVELLERS carried out their threat to simply go to another car park by moving from Batley to Dewsbury last Saturday morning.

Traveller Peter Cash vowed they would merely move elsewhere if Kirklees Council tried to evict them from Batley’s Field Lane Car Park.

Bailiffs were set to act last Friday, so they first went to the Mill Village car park off Bradford Road and are now at Dewsbury Railway Station. Court action is due on Monday. The same group were earlier moved from the Wards Hill car park in Batley, only for them to pop up at Field Lane.

Piles of carrier bags, stolen shopping trolleys, a children’s tricycle and cables were dumped at Field Lane, which Kirklees are now cleaning up.
