Man to attend race hate class...

AN Asian man must attend ‘hate crime classes’ over a racist outburst when a shop assistant refused to sell him cigarettes.

Adnan Hussain, 28, of Ashcroft Close, Staincliffe, was asked for ID when he went into the Sainsbury’s Local store in Halifax Road, Staincliffe.

Hussain launched a foul-mouthed racial attack on the woman, then later told her he knew people who would “slit her throat.”

He admitted racially-aggravated harassment and making unlawful threats when he appeared before Batley and Dewsbury magistrates.

He was given a 12-month community order and told to attend hate crime classes for six months.

His solicitor Mr Anastasis Tasou said Hussain saw red because he had lived in the area for eight years and went to the store regularly.

He was an angry young man who “blamed the world for the death of his mother” three years ago
