David Bentley - Sports Editor
Sports editor David Bentley studied politics at Lancaster University before joining National Club Golfer magazine in early 2001. The Dewsbury-born journalist covered European Tour and Major golf events then was snapped up by Press founder Danny Lockwood to work on League Weekly, a rugby league newspaper, in late 2002. Soon afterwards he joined The Press as sports editor and as well as covering news and lifestyle features is also responsible for the much-loved ’You’ve Got To Laugh’ jokes section every week. In his spare time Liversedge-based David plays rugby at Cleckheaton RUFC and enjoys travelling, skydiving, climbing, trekking and kayaking.
