Adele Latham - Office Manager

Adele’s 26-year career/love affair in newspapers began when she was asked to ’help out’ at the Dewsbury Reporter. She was ’thrown in at the deep end’ due to staff problems and ended up being left alone on deadline day in an extremely busy reception office. She didn’t have time to panic, but the managing director had to come and inform her she had ’cut off’ several telephone calls. Ah well! She went on to undertake various roles within the company and left in March 2002 when she was invited to join The Press. This was an opportunity she was so glad she took and was thus able to continue her working life in the industry she knew and loved so well. At The Press she is office manager of a paper she describes as a "hard hitting local newspaper - the best local newspaper - one that is not afraid to cover, and speak out, about issues which affect our local community".
