Employees make a splash cancer care...
STAFF from Dewsbury firm Rixonway Kitchens are on course to raise around £1,000 for a cancer charity through a sponsored swim.
A team of 16 employees went from the Shaw Cross firm to Wetherby last weekend for the annual Marie Curie Cancer Care swimathon.
Two squads of eight members completed 10,000 metres in total for a charity picked by commercial director Julian Dudley after a family bereavement.
He said: “The hospice network gave my father the highest level of care and supported my family during the last few weeks of his life.
“I was delighted to have the opportunity through the swimathon to give something back as a thank you on behalf of my father and our family.”
Julian led the trip and was joined by staff including planning manager David Parson and sales office manager Carol Madeley.
The company, who make units for the social housing sector, have supported charities regularly since being founded in 1978.
Rixonway Kitchens chief executive Paul Rose said: “Our company is committed to giving something back to the communities we work in.”
